The beast is the anti-christ the man of sin is here. Rev 13:1-10 describe him rising out of the sea the sea is symbolic for people and nations meaning he will rise from a ten world government or kingdom under the control of the anti-christ. The beast is a person as cruel as a beast who will gain the political and religious power of the world. He claims to be the true Christ which is beguiling for Israel, the Jews more particular as they are still waiting for the birth of Christ. As a result he will make a covenant with the nation of Israel to rebuild their temple.He will give them false peace then sudden destruction.

The bible states he will be wounded unto death. This clearly shows his cunning mentality this may be his chief means of deceiving many. Rev 13:3 It appears to the whole earth that the anti-christ has suffered a fatal wound but is brought back to life again by he supernatural power of Satan. Evidently God will permit Satan to try to duplicate the power of Christ.
